Last week, the President presented his American Jobs Act –
which analysis reveals to be a $447 billion Stimulus II.
While it includes some tax relief that I support, for job
creators and for the middle class, it is unfortunately
composed largely of the same temporary gimmicks and more
fundamentally flawed federal spending programs from
Stimulus I.
His plan is a mixed bag of failed worn-out ideas. And it
gets worse. This time he is including tax increases that
members of both parties agree are a bad idea. The President
paints them not as the economic poison they are, but as
class warfare against “millionaires and billionaires.” The
unfortunate reality is that his tax provisions would hit
small businesses and their creators – the backbone of our
economy – the hardest. Even Senate Democrats have conceded
his tax increases are unacceptable.
The free market is the engine that drives economic growth.
Why then does the President insist on the failed notion of
government solutions instead of policies that support
American free enterprise?

Jobs for American Citizens
"There are some seven-million jobs in the United States
that are currently held by illegal aliens," Ira Mehlman
reports. "Most of those jobs could and would be done by
American workers, if his administration would actually
enforce our immigration laws and open up those jobs for
American workers."
We pay American citizens over $360/week each for
unemployment for each of those 7M jobs.

Herman Cain's 9-9-9 Plan
Herman Cain's 9-9-9 plan would change the tax code to a
9% income tax, a 9% corporate tax and a 9% sales tax. He
has stated many times that he favors the Fair Tax, but he
needs to become President in order to sell it to the
American people from the "bully pulpit."
That 9% income tax would be a Steve Forbes-style flat tax.
Preparing taxes would involve a single page for most
taxpayers. The corporate tax reduction from 35% to 9%
would instantly stimulate corporations to hire and give
the U.S. an advantage in the world economy. The 9% sales
tax would transition to the Fair Tax.
I am obviously a Cain supporter and a Fair Tax advocate.
The Fair Tax has been studied for more than 2 decades. It
is a non-regressive consumption tax which replaces all
Federal taxes except the "inflation tax." The 16th
Amendment must be repealed before the tax is implemented.
The prebate makes it non-regressive. The poor and elderly
citizens will pay no tax up to the poverty level. Only
new things are taxed. Our "throw-away economy" idea
becomes less reasonable.
Before you accept sound bites from the ignorant, read the
two books written to explain and defend the Fair Tax.

Teamsters President Declares War!
Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa was in Detroit introducing
President Obama, where he effectively called for a war on
the tea party movement! Hoffa shouted, "We've got to keep
an eye on the battle that we face -- a war on workers. And
you see it everywhere. It is the Tea Party."
Then, Hoffa looked at President Obama and said, "President
Obama, this is your army, we are ready to march…let's take
these sons of bitches out."

Fall Rally 24 September Bobby's BBQ
Just to update everyone - we will have our rally with Daren
Gardener as our keynote speaker at Bobby's Bar-b-que (upstairs)
on September 24th. I have covered the deposit, so we are set.
Sandy and I looked at the room and it should handle our crowd.
They suggested that we tell everyone to eat between 5:30PM and
6:30PM and then go upstairs for the program. We should all get
there by 4:30PM, eat together and then be ready to welcome our
guest. We should start inviting as many like minded people as
we can (at least three or four each). Susan is doing a mailing
and is coordinating with Yvonne Meeks who will write our press
release and get it out to the media. Our next planning meeting
will be September 13th at my house - 881 River Bluff Rd., North
Augusta, SC off of Martintown Road in the Rapids subdivision at
7:00PM. I have also attached a list of current group as info.
I'll be at the beach next week but home on September 12th, call
me if you need me .
Thanks!

United States Postal Service Bailout?
U.S. Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe has said that
the United States Postal Service will default on its
obligations to the federal government on September 30,
at the end of the current fiscal year.
Now the House Committee on Oversight and Government
Reform has launched SavingThePostalService.com to educate
the public about the Postal Service’s financial troubles
and some possible solutions. The Postal Service lost
$8.5 billion in the last fiscal year. It is not clear
what will happen if the Postal Service does default.
Oversight committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa, R-CA,
and other committee members have said the result will
likely be a taxpayer bailout.
