Congress is supposedly a meeting of the people's
representatives to manage the Constitutional requirements
of the people. Con- means to defraud, dupe or swindle,
so what we actually have is a meeting to illegally defraud,
dupe or swindle the people who pay the taxes which fund
the government.
Consider the fact that the Federal government is not
operating with a budget passed by the Congress but with a
continuing resolution (CR). The “cuts” to induce passing
the CRs were mostly non-recurring costs like the 2010
Census. Consider the raising of the debt ceiling. The
ceiling was raised with the promise of spending cuts to
be determined by a mini-Congress of 12. The Democrats are
trying to get the Republicans to raise revenue by
eliminating tax loopholes. This is a distraction. The
pea in this shell game is spending cuts. The automatic
spending cuts when the mini-Congress fails will be small
($130B) in comparison to the yearly deficits ($1700B) over
each of the 10 years. Ten years later we will have an
additional $15,700B in debt to the $15,000B that we currently
have. This is in addition to what unfunded liabilities add
to the real debt. Total debt is over $120,000B.
The above is the result of 2012 being an election year.
The largest impact of the 2010 Obamacare law will not take
effect until after the 2012 election. The automatic cuts
will seriously affect defense and Democrat-hated programs.
The growing economy will increase revenues, the government
will borrow up to the new debt limit, and the Federal Reserve
will illegally monetize the debt. This will get us to 2013.
If Republicans win the House, Senate and Presidency, then the
hole will be deeper at that point and will be painful to get out
of. Republicans will be blamed by the liberal media.
