Newt on the Debt Limit

Raising the debt ceiling without passing real reform to
put America back on the path of fiscal responsibility will
forever burden our children and grandchildren with higher
taxes, bigger government, and less freedom.

What we are witnessing is, in fact, a power struggle between
the 80 percent of the American people who believe in a
citizen-centered government and the 20 percent who believe
in a Washington-centered government.

The president yesterday made it clear which side he is on
when he threatened to veto the Cut, Cap and Balance Act, a
courageous attempt by House Republicans to force Washington
to embrace fiscal responsibility.
