While we are in support of cutting spending now, capping
the percentage of government spending as it relates to the
gross domestic product, and balancing the budget, we do not
support those items in exchange for a debt ceiling increase.
America cannot afford to continue to spend more money than
it brings in. America cannot afford to borrow 44 cents of
every dollar it spends.
